RH0709010007HUBE - Hubeite and Calcite - Fengjiashan Mine (Daye Copper mine), Daye Co., Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China
5.5 x 3.7 x 2.5 cm; One side of this specimen is richly coated with the Hubeite which was first identified as a new mineral in 2002. It's named for the province in which it occurs. The Fengjiashan Mine, sometimes called the Daye Mine, is the "type locality" and is still the only locality where Hubeite is found. The other side of the sample is a grotto lined with "dog tooth" Calcite crystals. The sample comes with a "Rocksmiths" label, one of the first sellers to bring this mineral to the market place. $35

 

 

 

 
RH0709010008LAMB - Baryte - Lamb Mine, Morgan Co., Missouri
7 x 7 x 4 cm; The Lamb Mine closed in 1994. As reported in the March/April 1996 Issue of Rocks & Minerals (Vol. 71, No. 2), Glenn Williams and Harold (Hal) Prior did extensive digging at the site of the mine in 1991 and 1992 and had extraordinary luck in recovering some nice baryte specimens from the site. This sample of sparkling clear Baryte (Barite) on massive white barite was found by Glenn during the excavation in October of 1991 and comes with his original label. Individual crytals range of to 1.8 cm. $40

7.5 x 5.3 x 3 cm; Long Black slender parallel crystals nearly cover the surface. Rich for species. $20

5.5 x 3.5 cm. A sheet of weel crystallized copper with natural patina. Both sides of the spcimen are shown. $20

4 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm. This sample displays both the btryoidal surfaces and radiating crystal form characteristic of this phosphate mineral [NaFe9(PO4)6(OH)10·5(H2O)].    $20
